New Year Hike~ Waldens Ridge
January 6 @ 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a NEW YEARS hike day to walk the hiking trails of the newly opened Waldens Ridge Park. This park encompasses 200-acres of outdoor fun including mountain biking, hiking, trail running, and bouldering. A trail system on the east face of Signal Mountain boasts a very beautiful and diverse canopy, almost 800 feet in elevation gain, and the distinct woodland qualities as part of the Cumberland Plateau.
No experience is necessary and our guides will take you on a beginner friendly hike rated moderate that is approximately 3 miles. The hike will take about 2 to 2.5 hours and this hike has a trail sequence has about 300 feet in elevation gain. The trail is mostly dirt with some rocks and roots.
This park would not be possible without the network of nonprofits and outdoor enthusiasts that pull together to make Chattanooga an adventure destination. A big thanks is due to the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy (NCCC), SORBA Chattanooga, The Land Trust for Tennessee, the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, and Hamilton County Parks and Recreation. Each organization played a unique and integral role in the process of the park’s development.
