The Ocoee River is the Southeast’s iconic whitewater stream, providing 10 miles of seriously challenging whitewater in a spectacular mountain setting.
Served by two dozen commercial rafting companies, the Ocoee contains two sections, the Upper and Middle. Trips run on either section or for a longer trip, both sections.
The Class IV Upper Ocoee section includes the Olympic whitewater course and contains highly technical rapids, even when run in guided rafts.
The Class III-IV Middle Ocoee section is the best first time run in a guided raft. Full of big, bouncy rapids, there are also several spots for swimming, spinning and generally getting wet.
The Ocoee River is dam controlled. Rafting outfitters only run during recreational releases.
