Mountain to Town
Mountain to Town Bike Adventure is a guided downhill mountain bike ride that highlights the scenic trails atop Lookout Mountain and how they connect to the Tennessee Riverwalk all the way to downtown Chattanooga! Join us for this all-inclusive downhill bike adventure to enjoy scenic views of the city from the Guild Trail and follow the shores of the Tennessee River from along the Riverwalk. Outdoor Chattanooga’s experienced guides will be with you during the ride providing support and instruction. Cost is only $25 which includes transportation from downtown to Lookout Mountain, guided tour and the use of a mountain bike and helmet (or use your own). Online reservations are required in advance as space is limited.
Ride time is approximately 2 hours, descending nearly 1,500 ft over 13 miles with some short climbs. This family-friendly adventure is appropriate for ages 12 and up when accompanied by a participating adult. Riders must be able to independently ride, shift, maneuver, and operate a bike with hand brakes, listen and follow instructions and be able to make decisions quickly while moving at higher speeds in order to participate in this adventure. See our Learn to Ride a Bike Class to learn these skills.
Cost: $25 per person includes bike, helmet, transportation, guide staff and ride support. Online reservations required in advance. Mountain bikes and equipment are available for use at no additional charge with registration and payment thanks to a grant from the Ironman Foundation and Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga.
What You’ll Discover

Did You Know?
Trails and greenways provide so much more than a recreational benefit for the occasional jogger and cyclist. Trail networks provide important environmental, economic, social, and health benefits for individuals, communities, and regions as a whole. The Chattanooga region has over 100 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails within 15 miles of downtown and over 20 miles of paved pathways throughout the city limits, including the Tennessee Riverwalk and South Chickamauga Creek Greenway. Our Mountain to Town downhill bike Adventure aims to highlight the connectivity of these trail systems while providing recreational opportunities for the community and showcasing Chattanooga’s natural resources for future protection and conservation.
