Horseback Riding

The Chattanooga area holds an abundance of horseback riding opportunities, for the self-contained horseback rider, as well as the casual rider. Hundreds of miles of trails run through Prentice Cooper State Forest, only a few minutes outside the Chattanooga city limits. Cloudland Canyon and Fort Mountain State Parks in North Georgia along with the Cherokee National Forest, in the Appalachian Mountains to the east, contain hundreds of more miles of challenging terrain.

Closer to home, Chickamauga Battlefield in Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park offers the private rider a unique way to experience history and nature, while Enterprise South Nature Park recently added of 10 miles of trail dedicated for horseback riders.
