Silver Adventures: History Walk of Chattanooga and its Railroads

November 14, 2024 @ 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Join us for a leisurely and informative walk along the scenic South Chickamauga Greenway, where we’ll explore the rich railroad history of Chattanooga. As we traverse this beautiful trail, you’ll have the unique opportunity to view five historic Civil War-era railroad bridges that played a pivotal role during the war.

Historian volunteer, Greg Grant, joins the hike to share fascinating insights into how these railroads shaped not only the outcome of the Civil War but also Chattanooga’s growth into a vital transportation hub. This walk offers a perfect blend of outdoor recreation and historical discovery, making it a memorable experience for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Whether you’re curious about Civil War history, railroad engineering, or simply enjoy the outdoors, this program has something for everyone!
