Silver Adventures: Civil War Railroad Walk on the South Chickamauga Greenway
Presented by Outdoor Chattanooga
For adults aged 50 and above, Outdoor Chattanooga presents Silver Adventures—an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in nature under the guidance of our expert outdoor team. With a focus on personalized experiences, our group ratios are kept low to ensure individual attention, and we provide all necessary recreational equipment. Each adventure in the series offers a diverse range of guided and fully-equipped outdoor activities, designed to foster light exercise, social connections, and a spirit of exploration.
Join Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners volunteer Greg Grant, for a Silver Adventures hike on the South Chickamauga
Creek Greenway as we walk in the footsteps of history. Starting at the beautiful
Tennessee River we will follow the route of thousands of Union soldiers under the
command of William T. Sherman as they move towards what will be the Battle of
Missionary Ridge. This moderately easy 2.5 mile walk will also discuss the Cherokee
and railroad history of South Chickamauga Creek. The walk will be shuttled, with the van bringing you from the trail end back to your start/parking.
Participants park at Sterchi
Shuttle to Riverpoint.
