What is disc golf?
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf, but instead of a ball and clubs, players throw a flying disc from a tee area to a “hole”, in most cases, an elevated metal basket. The lingo for disc golf is similar to traditional golf: Ace, birdie, par, tee, drive, putt, etc, all mean the same, but there are a few terms like Anhyzer, Hyzer, Mando, Tree Love, Roller, Upshot, Understable, Overstable, and Tomahawk that are specific to the sport. Trees, shrubs, and terrain located in and around the fairways and holes provide challenging obstacles. The sport is low cost and easily enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. The Chattanooga area boasts several disc golf courses of varying difficulty for you to get out enjoy this fun and active outdoor hobby.
