Intro to Mountain Biking: Core Skills

Mountain Biking is so much more than just riding a bike through the woods!
Outdoor Chattanooga’s Intro to Mountain Biking Skills Classes will introduce and reinforce the core skills that are required to get the most out of mountain biking. Let our instructors teach you in a format that can be structured to your pace and individual learning style.
This class is ideal for the complete novice or for those who wish to practice specific skills in a controlled setting. Appropriate for ages 10-110. Pre-registration is required. Loaner equipment is available but limited. Participants must already know how to confidently ride a bike for this class. (See Learn to Ride a Bike Classes if you aren’t a confident bike rider).
The course will cover the following, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere:
Safety check and bike fit
Riding body positions for off road terrain
Shifting, pedal positions, and using your brakes
Maneuvering techniques and drills
Climbing and descending
Single Track riding techniques
Take any of our Core Skills Class offered throughout the year to build confidence and take your riding to the next level out on the trail.
Information on community group rides, resources and local bike shops available upon request.
2018 Schedule of Core Skill Builder Classes LOCATED AT GREENWAY FARM
Appropriate for ages 10-110.
Pre-registration is required.
Loaner equipment is limited but can be provided upon request at no extra charge.
Cost: $10 per person per session
Duration: Two hour session
