History by Kayak: The Yankees Land at Browns Ferry
Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners have teamed up to provide a Civil War History tour by kayak. This paddling program emulates the action at Browns Ferry and the opening of the new Union supply line. Join Civil War expert Dr. Anthony Hodges as we paddle in kayaks down the Tennessee River and land at historic Brown’s Ferry. The paddle is four miles in length and will take approximately three hours. Kayaks, PFDs, paddles, guides, and transportation back to your vehicle all will be provided by Outdoor Chattanooga. Some prior paddling experience is helpful, but not required. Participants need to be 16 or older and know how to swim.
