Chattanooga Classic Hike Series is a collection of premier guided hikes designed for beginner or seasoned hikers looking to connect with nature, showcase the area’s diverse landscapes, and make lasting memories in one of Tennessee’s most picturesque locations.
Trailhead Start/Information: The trails are marked with white blazes on trees. This section of trail is rated moderately strenuous so there will be some drastic changes in the elevation. The trailhead for this section starts by crossing Tower drive from the parking lot (look both ways before crossing the road). The trails are marked with white blazes on trees. You will hike down to an intersection known as Indian Rockhouse and Stone Door. Go Left at this intersection to head towards Poplar Springs. Hikers will have views of the Tennessee River Gorge and cross Sulphur Branch Bridge at 2.5 miles. The next landmark will be Lawson Rock Overlook at mile 3.3. Expect some minor stream crossings after this and for the trail to continue to go up and down. The trail ends at the road with a steep set of stairs.

Hike Time: 3 hours
Elevation: 1000 feet change over up and down terrain, moderately strenuous
