From the adrenaline rush of the freefall to the quiet beauty of floating down to earth, skydiving offers heart pumping speed, breathtaking vistas and fresh air solitute, all in one package.
Who can skydive? Anyone in reasonable physical condition.
Most beginners will do their first skydive in tandem with an experienced instructor. Both the student and the instructor are attached to the same parachute system.
They freefall together for 30 to 50 seconds, depending on jump altitude–typically 10,000 to 13,000 feet–and descend together under a single large parachute with dual controls.
Chattanooga’s local drop zone is located at the Marion County Airport, only 40 minutes from downtown. The drop zone offers spectacular views of the Tennessee River Gorge, Cumberland Plateau and Nickajack Lake.
Chattanooga Skydiving Company offers instruction and tandem flights for first timers.
