One of the best fishing areas is in Booker T. Washington State Park, located on the east side of the lake about 20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga.

Fish are abundant in the lake. Primary species of sport fish include white crappie, bluegill, white bass, channel and blue catfish, largemouth bass, and sauger.

Bluegill

A swimming pool, 6.5 miles of mountain bike trail, picnic areas and pavilions complete an excellent park for a family outing.
